His mother was Frances Mary Lavinia Polidori and his father Gabriele Pasquale Giuseppe Rossetti was a scholar and poet. Rossetti married the English poet and model Elizabeth Eleanor Siddall in 1860 and she died in 1862 at the age of 32. The artist died on the 9th of April, 1882 in Birchington-on-Sea, Kent, England at the age of 53. Dante Gabriel Rossetti is buried at the All Saints Church, Birchington, Birchington-on-Sea, England, United Kingdom of Great Britain.
