Archie Roach was a famous Indigenous Australian singer, songwriter, musician and activist. He is best known for his authentic music and he gave a lot of time towards campaigning for the rights of Aboriginal Australians. Popular Archie Roach albums include “Jamu Dreaming”, “Looking for Butter Boy”, “Sensual Being”, “Journey”, “Into the Bloodstream”, “Let Love Rule”, “Dancing with My Spirit”, “Tell Me Why”, and “The Songs of Charcoal Lane”.

Mini biography: Born Archibald William Roach on the 8th of January, 1956 in Mooroopna, Victoria, Australia. He was a child of the stolen generation who were forcibly removed from their homes by government agencies and placed in orphanages. Archie was fostered by Scottish immigrants Alex and Dulcie Cox who were influential in his love of music. Roach was married to the Australian singer Ruby Hunter. They sang and toured together until her death in 2010. He had two sons: Amos and Eban. The musician died on the 30th of July, 2022 in Warrnambool, Victoria, Australia at the age of 66.
