Amedeo Modigliani was a famous Italian painter and sculptor. He is best known for his female nude paintings and portraits of various friends and acquaintances in Montparnasse, Paris. Mini biography: Born Amedeo Clemente Modigliani on the 12th of July, 1884 in Livorno, Italy. His mother was Eugénie Garsin and his father Flaminio Modigliani was a mining engineer and entrepreneur. Modigliani never married but had serious relationships with Beatrice Hastings and Jeanne Hébuterne. Modigliani had two children, one with Simone Thiroux (Gérard Thiroux) and one with Hebuterne (Jeanne Modigliani.) Jeanne Hébuterne was 8 months pregnant with their second child when she committed suicide the day after Modigliani died. The artist died on the 24th of January, 1920 in Paris, France at the age of 35. Modigliani is buried alongside Jeanne Hébuterne at the Père Lachaise Cemetery, Paris, France.
