+ In Family Guy, most of the people on staff could draw better than me. So it was more about from a direction stand-point.. How do these characters act? What's the funniest way for them to move?

+ When you are in a room and your job is to write jokes 10 hours a day, your mind starts going to strange places.

+ It would be nice if there was less development.. if there was less meddling with projects before they get on. It would be nice if there was less of a homogenizing process between the conception of an idea and when it makes it to air, because I think a lot of good projects are ruined.

+ We got criticism early on. Any animated show that comes along is inevitably going to be compared to The Simpsons.

+ Absolutely, we were influenced by The Simpsons. We'd be stupid not to be. They put that out there, and we took a cue from that.

+ The success of The Simpsons really opened doors. It showed that if you were working in animation you didn't necessarily have to be working in kids' television.

+ Thing about animation is there are people who associate it more with being a visual art. I've actually always thought of animation as more closely related to the performing arts. So many of the same rules of acting apply. In a lot of cases you don't have to be a terrific artist.
