One of the largest and most powerful works produced by Picasso is the 3 and a half meters tall and nearly 8 meters wide Guernica painting. The gray masterpiece was carefully planned and thought out before work started, but it also evolved as he painted it. It's a response to the 1937 bombing of Guernica in Spain by the Italian and German air forces. Guernica is an anti-war painting, an anti-death painting, it's a painting that the ruling elite psychopaths of the world will never listen to as their lust for innocent blood will never be quenched, hence our constant state of war and state sponsored killing which continues to this day.
