Claude Monet's gardens often inspired his art and his art was in his gardens. Children play on the garden path, surrounded by flowering yellow sunflowers. His young wife had died the previous year to this picture being painted. Monet began living with Alice Hoschede and she helped raise his two children to Camille, along with her own 6 children.
