Marilyn Monroe was a famous American actress, singer and glamour model. She is best known for being a pop culture icon and figurehead of the sexual revolution of the 1950s and 1960s. Mini biography: Born Norma Jeane Mortenson on the 1st of June, 1926 in Los Angeles, California, United States of America. Her mother was Gladys Pearl Monroe and her biological father was Charles Stanley Gifford. Monroe was married to the police officer James Dougherty between 1942 and 1946. Her second husband was the famous American baseball player for the New York Yankees Joe DiMaggio (1954 to 1955). And her third husband was the screenwriter Arthur Miller (1956 to 1961). The actress died on the 4th of August, 1962 in Los Angeles, California, U.S. at the age of 36. She died from an overdose of barbiturates. Marilyn Monroe is buried at the Pierce Brothers Westwood Village Memorial Park and Mortuary, Westwood, Los Angeles 90024 California, United States.
