"Art
for me is kind of a religious experience;
the ultimate engagement, and when viewing
a painting that really excites me, it
leaves this residue that stays with me
a lifetime. Art is a form of meditation.
When I paint a tree, a flower, a bird
or a landscape, I think of the structure
of the thing that I paint, the creation
and evolution of it, which then sends
me into a whole thought process that is
ephemeral in a way. It is very deep, and
inexplicably satisfying." Patricia
